the Lord is sovereign
after a lovely visit in NH this weekend, my stomach has been a mess so i decided to fast for most of the day today. i had dinner tonight though and ate less than i felt like eating just to make sure i could handle it. so far so good i think :-)
i read a bunch today too. since i was feeling pretty yucky most of the day i thought it would be a good day to finish reading joni eareckson tada's autobiography. it was really good and definitely challenging to my own faith and dependence on the Lord. i was reminded again what a faithful Lord our Creator really is and that He is sovereign. just that simple statement--the Lord is sovereign--has been a focus of my vacation so far and has been reverberating in my heart and soul. there's been so much going on that the Lord keeps using to remind me to meditate on His sovereignty. He is so faithful!
if you think of it, pray for my family. there's still a good amount of turmoil, and more getting stirred up as mom and dad's kids get older. i won't go into it, but Satan's probably having a heyday. i personally would like to squelch that, in particular, by obeying God's Word and responding rightly to trials with the help of the Holy Spirit. so prayer would be much appreciated.
as for the rest of my evening, i'm going through all my clothes and getting rid of stuff i don't wear so i can fit everything in two suitcases that weigh under 50 lbs when i go back to school. i think going to Israel helped me to realize i have too much stuff. funny to think that before i went i thought i was successfully getting rid of unnecessary clutter. ha. funny how perspectives change.
NYC with lisa on Saturday!!! woo hoo!!
p.s. i miss you happy!
