cats=Satan's favorite pet

ok, first i'm SO excited that i FINALLY got my laptop battery!!! it was delivered today and right now i have a little orange light glowing next to the green light in the front of my laptop. oh how i've missed that little light.

but, that was just the most recent excitement in my life. this morning we all got up and drove to pop-pop and patty's house. lisa bought me this smoothie from uncommon grounds, a super expensive little cafe with all these yummy fruit smoothies. mine was SO good. after smoothies, we got into three cars and began the hour long drive down to CT. mom and john leading the way, lisa, tom, and michelle in lisa's car, and mike, raphaelle, dan and me in john's truck. it was a fun ride :-)

when we got to pop-pop and patty's we sat around talking for a while before heading off to lunch at the lobster barn. however, in the 45 minutes that we were at their house i determined that i have developed a severe alergy to cats as i sneezed almost non-stop. lunch was delicious though. i had a lobster roll, as did pop-pop, raphaelle, dan, and mom. michelle had never had real lobster so she had a whole one. it was fun to watch her with the bib and claw crackers having no clue what to do. then tom told her it bites and she screamed and dropped it. ha. in the course of our lunch conversation, my grandpa was told that i would be the one to have children. i wasn't so much involved in that conversation until my mom yelled from the other end, "amy, how many kids are you going to have?" and proceeded to put up two, then three, then four, then five fingers, looking questioningly at me. i just shrugged. then somehow it turned to asking me if i'll need a wedding dress soon and do i want to wear her mom's dress. yeah, that was a little intense. towards the end of lunch my aunt margaret showed up and she and my mom talked for a long time. well, she mostly talked more than my mom. she likes talking a lot.

after lunch we headed back to pop-pop's house and played cribbage with three teams, which meant six people: pop-pop and tom were one team, mom and mike on another, and then lisa and me on the third. it was a very close game, but in the end pop-pop and tom won. it was probably the best that way that pop-pop could still say he can beat all his grandchildren at cribbage. throughout the game i sneezed until my head and lower back ached. i've never experienced allergies quite like that and by the time we left my voice sounded like i had laryngitis. i'm feeling much better now, but i definitely hate cats more than ever.

so aside from the allergies, today was a really great day with family :-D but for now i'm going to get my book and do some reading/watching everyone play mariokart.

p.s. i really miss you happy!
