oi... that's all i can say
ok, so maybe that's not all i can say. but i just finished taking my hebrew final. yes, it took me a little under three hours. granted some of that time was spent staring at my paper, or with my head on my desk. but i was definitely in that classroom from 1:15 pm to 4:00 pm. at the risk of saying something incredibly pessimistic, i'm just going to end by saying that was definitely the hardest final i've ever taken in my entire life. not only that, but i need to study for the final i have at 8 am right now and have absolutely no motivation to do so. what a good opportunity to practice diligence when it doesn't "come naturally," right?
but before i go, i'll share some good news that brought a smile to my face. we got our grades back from jewish thought and culture. i got an 89 on the final and a 91 in the class! praise the LORD i thought i was getting a B or C in that class! amazing!!! oooo... that's good to think about when i think of studying for my next final. i think this is the right note to end on for sure. oh yes, and one more thing... part of our hebrew final was an oral part. we had to read a section of deuteronomy 8 to bill (our prof) and then translate some words for him. i read four verses to him and he said my pronunciation was excellent. i didn't make one mistake until the end when i said it right first and then tried to correct it because it sounds different in another context. it's a little hard to explain, but basically i did good! that was pretty cool to hear. i read slow, but i make sure i'm saying it right and he said that was great and to keep it up. so i guess even if i didn't get the best grade on the final, i did learn a LOT this semester and i'm glad the Lord allowed me to be here learning hebrew where it's actually spoken. alright, i'm going for real. God bless!
