boyfriend :-D

interesting subject huh? well, my news this posting is that i have a boyfriend!!!!!!!! his name is andrew gilmore, but everyone calls him happy (yes, like the movie). it's funny to me that i came to israel thinking i would have a whole semester that i wouldn't have to think about guys at all. i guess the Lord had other plans... can't say i'm opposed, but it's definitely been an adventure.

for those of you who want to know what happened, keep reading... well we met on the plane coming over, although i had already met him the first day of my freshman year. we were standing in line to register and his mom introduced herself and we started talking. i just remembered his name, since it's happy gilmore, and i thought he was a jerk. haha. but i knew who he was and one of my good friends was also good friends with him, but somehow we never actually became friends at masters.

anyways, we sat next to each other on the plane here and i told him that i get really fidgety when the plane takes off and lands. i said it's not that i'm nervous, i just don't have anything to do with myself, so i fidget. he didn't seem bothered by it. so being here at IBEX, there's only 36 of us and we're all getting to know each other really well. neither of us really remembers when we started liking each other, but we both liked hanging out together. he's really fun to be around :-D

so friday afternoon was when i chopped my hair and i'd wanted to for a while, but happy had been saying i should too. finally i found someone who could cut hair, tasha, and she cut it for me. yeah, she did an AWESOME job! i love it. oh, right, back to the story. ok, so it was a semi-surprise with the haircut and it was really cool seeing everyone's reactions, especially happy's. he liked it a lot. but then that night we sat next to each other in chapel and a bunch of us were talking afterwards. he said he wanted to go do something and i did too, but no one else did. so he asked if i wanted to go for a walk. so we did. we walked on this dirt path near the moshav in a park-type thing and looked at the stars for a while and just talked. it was really awesome and so comfortable. yeah, needless to say it was that night that we determined we both liked each other and a few days later we decided on boyfriend/girlfriend. however, the official "day" is October 15th.

well, there's the story. i hope you enjoyed reading about it. i'm still SO excited to see how the Lord will work in our relationship and we're both praying for the whole thing. he's never had a girlfriend before, but he treats me like a princess. it's wonderful :-) he's grown up in a Christian home and has two younger brothers. he was saved when he was five and has lived in Santa Clarita basically his whole life. yeah, he's a so cal boy. we've been able to talk a lot here and the past six days have felt like so much longer. i think since we all have the same schedule and all spend our time together, it seems like i've known him much longer than seven weeks. thankfully, the Lord is guiding our communication and it's been going really well. he even loves playgrounds like me! i learned that last night. haha. it was definitely an added bonus. ok, i'd better get to dinner. keep me updated everyone!
