cease striving
it's been raining off and on all day out here in great barrington. i just took a lovely walk in it. there is a cemetery i used to go walk around in with dan or sometimes by myself when i lived out here after high school. for some reason has a really calming effect on me. so, i went there. it's not that far from where my mom lives now. yeah, great barrington is pretty small. everything is rather close.
i remember taking my journal out there every so often and sitting under the trees writing and praying. that's what i went out to do, spend some time with the Lord. i often allow myself to be distracted by the things around me at home, which was one of the reasons i needed to leave. i also keep adding to everything that is already going on in my head. it was a good time to come before my Lord and "Cease striving and know that [He is] God..." as Psalm 46:10 says.
work at taft today was uneventful. since it is tuesday and rainy, the store was practically dead, so i cleaned up a lot of the back room. i hope it stays clean for a little while. i like it that way :-) dan asked this morning if i was feeling better and seemed very pleased that i wasn't sick anymore. pennie gave me a book by one of her friends who preaches from the Bible and the New York Times, or something like that. i guess this woman is a famous preacher. interesting. pennie had her inscribe the book and autograph it for me. i forgot it at the farm though. that's what i get for not putting it near my stuff. hopefully i'll remember it tomorrow :-
well, i'm going to go do.... something.......... it's been quiet around here since i got home from work. i'm guessing it's been quiet all day. dan's been so calm. strange. he's sitting on the couch playing his gameboy. pokemon. woo. he's a cutie though :-) maybe i'll start working on my map manual for ibex. yeah, i need to start. ok, i'm out. have a good night all and God bless.
