a degree on ebay?
today was a great day. at taft paul left for a long time and all this stuff happened and the Lord provided EVERYthing for me to take control and get done what needed to be done. He is SO good! when paul got back i'd written him a note because i thought i would have been gone before he got back. there were a few things on the note and then i told him about two orders that had been called in and all that went along with that. blah blah blah. he just listened staring at me with his jaw dropped. i finished by saying "so i'm just going to get that order together, ok?" and he just looks at me for a few seconds and says "you don't really need to go to college. i'll buy you a degree on ebay and you can stay here and work at the farm! how does that sound?" ha. yeah, i laughed and was like "um... no thanks... is it really that hard to find people to do what i do?" then he said "well, no, but it is hard to find people who do it well!" that was pretty nice. i just said "awww... thanks!" and started getting the order together. interesting. i think he likes having me around so he doesn't have to run around like a chicken with his head cut off. less stress, y'know?
anyways, tonight was my last night at the bug forever (Lord-willing!). they wanted to take me out to dinner, but while we were at work the grandfather of one of my managers passed away. she was really upset and i wanted her to be able to come hang out with everyone so i said we should re-schedule. that way she wouldn't feel like she was missing out and she'd be able to spend time with her family. also, her bday is the 30th so we decided to go out then and celebrate that and then say goodbye to me. ha. celebrate me leaving. haha. it was a strange night at the bug tonight though. carrie is the one who's grandpa died and terry is one of the other managers who was also working tonight. there was a huge drama about asking for time off and it blew up into terry yelling at carrie as we were supposed to be closing and RIGHT after she found out her grandpa died. it was awful. michelle was also working (she's 16) and was like "uh, i don't want to go out with just me, you and terry!" so, it worked out i suppose. everyone got what they wanted and then i got to go to dinner with my mom, john, and lisa, which was really fun and definitely what i would have preferred to do.
after working at taft tomorrow i'm leaving for NH!!!!! yay!!!!!! i'm SO EXCITED to see everyone! it's weird because i almost feel like i'm "home" but not quite. VBS is at my church this coming week too, so i'll be able to help out out monday at least. kinda sad that i'll miss the rest, but i'm glad i can go for one day. maybe they'll need some extras to drift around and fill-in for others. i'm sure the Lord can work that out. :-)
wait... one more thing before i collapse of exhaustion. this morning at the farm this guy came in to pick raspberries for us. his name is juan, he's probably in his mid to late 40s and he doesn't speak any english. usually pennie is around and can communicate well enough with him to tell him what to do, but she was gone today so dan asked me to help. wow, i'm rusty, but it was really cool to try and remember things and learn stuff. he asked my name and told me his. then i asked how you say strawberry in spanish and he told me "fresa." at least, that's what i think he said. haha. then i asked "como se dice 'raspberry'?" and he didn't know. he said "pequeno?" and laughed. it was kind of cool what i remembered, granted not very much, but it made me want to review! :-D yeah, in my spare time right? oi. speaking of spare time, i still have to pack and i'm really tired. i think i'll have coffee tomorrow before i drive up to NH. yeah, definitely. ok, good night all and God bless!
