classical guitar anyone?
do you ever just have those days where you are simply in awe of the Lord and His grace? this weekend in NH was beyond what i could have imagined. i got to see everyone at church and saw SO many new babies and pregnant women! becks looks so cute with her little belly. she's due may 17th which means i might be home in time to go up and be there when the baby is born!!! that would be such a blessing!
aside from church, i got to have breakfast with my dad this morning and we just sat (and walked) and talked for about 2 1/2 hours. i'm a little tired though so i'm going to finish this post quick. FIRST, however, i must share how the Lord demonstrated His grace today to my dad and me. in the course of our breakfast, dad was telling me how he was debating whether he should stop playing guitar or if he should take up classical guitar lessons. it was quite the discussion, but we talked about how the Lord has blessed him with a gift to play the guitar and you can never be sure how the Lord will use us and the gifts He's given us. so then he was saying how he went to a music store to try out some classical guitars, but determined they were all very expensive. in the end he said he needed to decide if he wanted to spend the money to get a classical guitar to take lessons or not. i said he should pray about it and that i would too. not a minute later a woman from his church walked in the restaurant with her son, who plays guitar. dad invited them over to take our table since he was just finishing his coffee so they sat with us for a bit and dad and alex (her son) talked guitar. dad relayed his thoughts on classical guitar lessons and the dilemma of whether to purchase his own when the woman pipes up "why don't you just use alex's classical guitar?" and alex said "sure!" dad's jaw dropped, as did mine, and dad said "you answered that awfully quickly. think about it for a bit." and alex says, "i did. you can use it until you save up enough to get your own!" so, to cut off this long story... dad's going to go to their house wednesday and pick it up from alex and start guitar lessons as soon as he can! what a faithful Lord we have been blessed to serve! He gives us precious gifts so abundantly so we can use them to praise and worship Him all for His glory! i'm still amazed at the Lord's work today... :-)
ok, so this post is definitely not quick. but i'm going to go anyways because i'm tired and want to read before crashing. lisa and i need to plan our Saturday in NYC too!! yay!! have a wonderful night and God bless!!!
