the excitement never ends at the Godwin household

it's been snowing all night here and we now have 10-12 inches of snow on the ground. dan got to stay home from school today as well, so he's in his room playing game cube. the bummer of the situation is that now it's turning to freezing rain. supposedly that was going to happen yesterday, but the freezing rain has held off until now. i'm wondering if i'll be babysitting tonight if driving is really bad... hmm... jessie and joe have yoga class that will probably be cancelled if the weather stays like this. blast. oh well, at least i've been able to make some money up to this point :-)

speaking of driving, last night lisa got in a car accident. actually, i shouldn't say it that way. this woman smashed into lisa's front right fender when lisa had the right of way. lisa was on her way to work driving down this neighborhood street and the woman was coming down a side street that connects with the one lisa was on. the woman didn't see a stop sign so she just kept going and hit lisa. then she got out of the car and got this spacy look on her face and said "what happened??" to lisa. silly people. lisa was a little shaken, but she's fine. john brought her down to the police station this morning to fill out paperwork. the cop that came told the other woman that technically he should give her a citation, but he didn't, so they are going to write that on the police report. oi.

on a less serious note, i gave lisa a pair of pants that were too big for me and they fit her perfectly. she loves them :-) hehe. the great part is i bought them for $2 at my favorite thrift store in NH! i must say, one of my favorite things is having nice clothes that people compliment you on and being able to say you got it at a thrift store for $2-$4. BUT, even better than that is being able to give them away when they don't fit properly without feeling uneasy that you spent $60 on a pair of pants that no longer fits. ah, thrift stores--what a lovely invention!

well i think i'm going to make john's cookies that he's been patiently waiting for. i definitely don't want to leave before getting to make them again and this is the perfect day to warm up the house with the oven and the smell of fresh peanut blossom cookies. mmm. adios!

p.s. 9 more days!!
