hm... yeah...
today was another slow day. i read and worked on memorizing psalm 139 for most of the day until babysitting maya tonight at 6. i actually just got home from that. so right now i've made $60 from the last two times i've gone over there, and i'm going again tomorrow morning, thursday morning, and thursday night. awesome! hopefully the weather permits that the plans are still followed through. tonight maya wasn't feeling very well though so we read books most of the night and she "went to bed" around 8. unfortunately, she had a long nap today so she didn't actually fall asleep. around 9 she started calling for her mom. i thought she might fall asleep if i left her, but her calls got semi-frantic so i went up and told her that her mom wasn't home yet, she'd be home soon, but that maya needed to go to sleep and i'd send her mom up when she came home. by the time jessie and joe got home, maya was still not entirely asleep and would whimper for a while (i could hear over the monitor) and then be quiet for a while. poor kid. she felt kind of warm when i put her to bed and her cough sounded pretty bad. i hope she feels better soon so her mom can get some work done. plus, it's just no fun being sick!
as for the excitement in my life, last night i finished the book i'd been reading, Their Eyes were Watching God. it's a very good book, but kind of sad as well. it challenged me too, reading the slang. i liked it :-) now i'm reading War of Words by Paul David Tripp and i'm in the middle of the third chapter. this is one of those books that you just can't read fast (not that i read fast anyways) because you can only chew so much at once. i thought i'd finish it before i left for school, but that's looking less and less like it will turn out that way. i'm ok with that though. i figure it's better to read slow and get more out of the book, especially because of the topic!
well, mom just made popcorn... so i'm going to go see if they'll let me share with them :-D good night and God bless!
