first day off

wow...what a week! i don't have too much to say, but i'm sure i'll stretch what i do have to say into something long. :-D well, first i have to share a praise. my job at fashion bug has been getting better as time goes on. my boss and all my co-workers are fun and easy to get along with. other than the fact that i'm already exhausted by the time i get there, it's turning into an ok job. however, i'm glad i'm also working at taft!!

speaking of taft, today was my first "weekend rush" experience, and it went really well by God's grace. although it was significantly more work than most days, the Lord provided the energy and stamina to do my job and do it well. He is SO good!

i will say that, though i love my job at taft, the son of the owners is a bit of a flirt. his name is paul and i think he's in his mid-twenties. he reminds me of high school since he does stuff like.... throwing pieces of moldy food at me and..... trying to trip me or..... kicking my foot while he walks by.... however, today i got to talk to him about my school. it's kind of cool using it as a witness tool. i was cutting up strawberries and a bunch had been cut by the container so they weren't sell-able. my boss, paul's dad danny, told me i could eat them so i cut off all the tops and bruises and was piling them all up when paul asked me if i was going to make some strawberry daiquiris. i kind of laughed and said i was still underage and he was like "yeah, like that would really stop you! if you were at school would you?" we were still kind of laughing and i was like "well, actually.... no.... my school has a contract.... so i don't drink or smoke or go to clubs..... that's just their rules....." he seemed a little surprised but asked about my school so i told him it was a Christian college. he pretty much dropped it after that, but just pray that it might have sparked some curiosity about Christianity, even if he disagrees. it would be cool to open the door for him to ask about it and where i get my beliefs from.

phew... yeah, so that was pretty cool. the other night at fashion bug i was talking to ann, the other Christian there about witnessing to people. pray for patience for me because even though i know she has a lot of wisdom and has been through a lot of stuff since she became a Christian 20 years ago, i sometimes get frustrated. it's like she thinks she has to correct me as a "young Christian" and it's a little irritating at times. i mean, yes, i have a lot of stuff to learn, but some stuff we just don't agree on. she was talking about free will vs. grace like the Lord wasn't sovereign and i didn't know where to go from there so i just shut up and listened. i still need to learn how that all works out, but some of the stuff she was saying got under my skin. she's a sweet woman though and i'm very thankful to be able to talk to her about the Lord, whether we see eye-to-eye doctrinally or not.

yeah, remember how i said this would get long? haha... all i have to do is tell a few stories. oooh, one more thing! a woman at fashion bug has been i guess slacking is the best way to say it. i think she's been there for a while and she's just one of those harsh people that is difficult to like. i get along with her well enough, but she just rubs me the wrong way. anyways, apparently there's been a bunch of problems with her and my boss, aurora, asked me about some stuff this woman done and i just answered aurora's questions not knowing anything was up. then aurora asked me to write everything i told her on a piece of paper and sign the bottom. oi. yeah, so i know that i was just being honest and all, but i feel like some little tattle tail. aurora told me that it was completely confidential, but i just feel deceitful. i guess that would be a good thing to pray for as well. i can't imagine this woman would take being fired very well and i would hate to have her cause some big stink. aurora more than likely would be pretty shaken up by that. just pray that the Lord would work in the whole thing and that His will would be done. He is in control, even of unbelievers, whether they acknowledge it or not. He will and does bring glory to Himself. He alone is worthy.

alright, this is long enough. maybe i'll write tomorrow after lisa's graduation!! it depends on what everyone's doing. i have tomorrow off completely and then monday off at taft, but i work monday night at fashion bug. nice break i'd say! mmm... i'm going to go help my mom make homemade cheesecake! good night and God bless!!
