85 hours later....
ruth and i figured out that in approximately 85 hours i slept 10 of them. that was my life this past week. pretty insane i'd say, but i've learned a lot about myself and about the Lord. He is faithful and strong! however, i also saw my weaknesses much more clearly. yeah, it was quite a humbling week. He broke me and is continuing to do so. what a gracious Lord!
another development this week has been one of my friends and a guy here. yeah, it's really cute and they are good friends, but i start to feel like i'm losing all my single friends. i know it's silly, but there's my selfish sinful nature coming out. it reminds me a bit of home, although it's not as hard here because there's more single people around. i think part of the problem has been a lack of sleep as well.
that reminds me.... i broke down one day this week when a friend asked how i was doing. actually, i shouldn't say that, i just had tears in my eyes and a lump in my throat. i couldn't speak too well either, but it was good. it helped me a lot to talk to my friend and get a better perspective. i will say though that the combination of being overwhelmed and overtired is a BAD thing, in case there was some type of question about it.
tomorrow sara and i are going to UCLA for a volleyball tournament to raise money for our trip to n. ireland in august, although sara's not going anymore because she's going to IBEX!!!! :-D we have the best group going! it will be such a great semester!!! but back to tomorrow, it's supposed to be cold, which will be kind of nice if we're playing volleyball and getting all sweaty. lovely. i kind of hope we have too many people because i'm REALLY bad at volleyball and have a tendency to duck when the ball comes near me. OR i'll hurt myself and be in pain for a week afterwards. i'm definitely not athletically inclined, but i am getting better at badminton! hahaha... i don't know if that counts....
one more thing.... i talked to my mom today and that was really nice. i can't wait to go home :-) i'm hoping to take a biology class this summer at berkshire community college and transfer that in. the science classes here are absolutely insane and a LOT of work. i figure taking just one class while i'm working will be significantly less stressful. we'll see. i think i'd enjoy it! well, i'm almost ready for bed i think. we'll see... again.... haha.... good night and God bless!
